Villainize Chapter 3 The Shadow by RJ Stewart and Spire Ah the big mouth, the easy target, the insecure idiot that has to make it known that he’s the subject matter expert in every room that he enters. They honestly are my favorite people and I’ll tell you why. Villains like myself tend to move in the shadows. We don’t bring too much attention to ourselves for obvious reasons.
It’s much easier to move freely in a room full of competitors and potential clients or customers when you have a big mouth moron standing center stage and screaming at the top of his lungs that he’s the ultimate guru and everything. While he makes a complete and utter fool of himself, I like to take the time to gauge the room’s temperature, and usually it’s burning with disgust. Nobody likes the big mouth and nobody invited him to the event, but here he is sucking all the air out of the room and laying all of his cards on the table. Being labeled the big mouth is the quickest way to guarantee that you don’t walk away with a new customer.
It’s hard to sell to someone when the only thing that you care to talk about is yourself. I feel like I shouldn’t have to say it to any business owner, But I know I do. I’ve met too many business owners that can’t keep their fucking mouth shut for a minute long enough to hear their potential customers’ fears and pain points. I mean that’s the whole point of a conversation with a potential client right?
The shut up and here was really eating them inside. Don’t relate, don’t compare situations and for god sakes don’t interrupt them when they talk. For the love of me I can’t understand why the big mouth can’t figure out why he never makes a sale. SHUT THE FUCK UP.
Whenever I walk into that space I immediately identify the big mouth and I keep my distance from him. Why? Because he’s gonna make a complete idiot of himself and I don’t want my name associated with ignorance or my brand. I’ll even go as far as to decline shaking the hand of a big mouth in the public setting.
I truly isolate them from my entire brand as you should. Once you get all eyes on you, you start to notice that you made yourself a target, a judgement on what you wear, how you talk, how much you weigh, and the worst are the fat checkers that will Google every piece of nonsense that comes out of that big fat mouth of yours. The fat checkers will call you out on your bullshit in front of everyone and they have the receipts to prove it. It’s quite funny to me.
Sometimes it’s okay to just be a shadow and observe the room before acting. You’ll start to pick up on conversations that certain clips are having. You’ll hear complaints about your competitors that you get addressed in a subtle manner without being the big mouth. Typically, the big mouth can’t hear these whispered conversations because he’s too damn loud.
Be honest with yourself. If you’re the big mouth at the event, how many opportunities do you think that you’ve passed up in this lifetime? I bet every time that you show your face, people get quiet, break up the gathering to avoid you coming around and running your trap. If that’s you, fix it.
